How to get to University of ³Ô¹ÏÍø campuses. ³Ô¹ÏÍø is in the heart of south-east England, a thriving market town in ³Ô¹ÏÍøshire.

We are located approximately 60 miles from central London and 25 miles from Oxford. Easily accessible by road and rail. A close proximity to London’s airports support our strong national and international connections.

How to get to University of ³Ô¹ÏÍø by road

The University of ³Ô¹ÏÍø is situated in the centre of ³Ô¹ÏÍø, and has three campus sites all within one mile of each other, at Hunter Street, Chandos Road and Verney Park, all of which are easily accessed via the UK motorway network.

The University’s postcode (MK18 1EG) takes you to Hunter Street.  While our Verney Park campus does not have a dedicated postcode, it is accessed via Bernadines Way off London Road, the postcode for which is MK18 IBF. Please see the campus maps and area maps for further location information.

The following directions are for Hunter Street, where the main Reception is located.

From the M1 (Southbound): leave the motorway at Junction 15 and join the A508 west/south, signposted Stony Stratford. Continue along this road for approx 9 miles to a large roundabout at its junction with the A5. At this roundabout take the third exit onto the A422 and continue for approx 7 miles to ³Ô¹ÏÍø. At the first roundabout on the outskirts of ³Ô¹ÏÍø, take the first exit onto the ³Ô¹ÏÍø by-pass and continue to the third roundabout (Tesco), taking the third exit onto London Road. Travel along this road for about ½ mile and take the second left turning into Chandos Road. Continue along Chandos Road following the road round into Station Road, and at the T junction turn right into Hunter Street. Follow signs to car park.

From the M1 (Northbound): leave the motorway at Junction 13 taking the A421 westward. Keep following the A421, signposted to ³Ô¹ÏÍø over at least 14 roundabouts across Milton Keynes, and then keep following the A421 for another 7 or so miles, passing signs to Great Horwood and Thornborough, until finally joining and turning left onto the ³Ô¹ÏÍø by-pass. At the next roundabout (Tesco) take the third exit onto London Road. Travel along this road for about ½ mile and take the second left turning into Chandos Road. Continue along Chandos Road following the road round into Station Road, and at the T junction turn right into Hunter Street. Follow signs to car park.

From the M40 (Southbound and Northbound, avoiding Bicester): Leave the motorway at Junction 10 and join the A43, signposted Northampton, Silverstone. Continue along this road for approx 4 miles and at the first roundabout take the third exit onto the A421, signposted Finmere, ³Ô¹ÏÍø. Continue along this road for approx 8 miles and at the fifth roundabout (Tesco) take the first exit onto London Road. Travel along this road for about ½ mile and take the second left turning into Chandos Road. Continue along Chandos Road following the road round into Station Road, and at the T junction turn right into Hunter Street. Follow signs to car park.

How to get to University of ³Ô¹ÏÍø by rail

³Ô¹ÏÍø’s nearest railway station, Milton Keynes, is a mere 15-20 minutes away by taxi or coach. It is on the main West Coast line so is served by direct trains from everywhere from London to Glasgow. The frequent “Virgin Euston” service takes you from the heart of London in just 40 minutes.

When you arrive at Milton Keynes Central station, you can take the X5 coach towards Oxford. ³Ô¹ÏÍø (town centre) is the first stop after about 20 minutes. X5 coaches run every 30 minutes throughout the day. The Verney Park and Hunter Street campuses are about a 10 minutes walk from the bus stop.

Taxis from Milton Keynes to ³Ô¹ÏÍø cost between £15 and £25.

Travelling by coach

³Ô¹ÏÍø is linked to those other Great British seats of learning, Oxford and Cambridge, by the half-hourly X5 coach. provide a frequent service between London and Milton Keynes Coachway. There are also services to Milton Keynes Coachway from many other places. From Milton Keynes Coachway, take the X5 coach towards Oxford. ³Ô¹ÏÍø is the third stop (approximately 40 minutes).

There are are very frequent coaches from London to Oxford (Gloucester Green / George Street). On arrival at Oxford, take the X5 coach towards Cambridge (approximately 50 minutes).

Travelling by air

Our strong global links are facilitated by our proximity to the international airports of , , and . From these a short tube or train-ride takes you into London where you can catch a train to Milton Keynes. There are also coach services from the airports.

From Heathrow, you can travel by Underground to Euston. London Transport underground trains leave from Heathrow Airport every 9 minutes on the Piccadilly Line (maps of the underground system are displayed prominently at the station), changing at Green Park onto the Victoria Line to Euston. At Euston follow the signs for Euston railway station. Take a London Midland or Virgin train to Milton Keynes. Alternatively you can take a direct coach from Heathrow to Milton Keynes or Oxford.  More information about Heathrow: .

From Gatwick, there is an hourly train service to Clapham Junction, where (except on Sundays) you can change for a train to Milton Keynes. Otherwise you can take a train from Gatwick to London Victoria, Underground from Victoria to Euston, then a London Midland or Virgin train to Milton Keynes. Alternatively you can take a direct coach from Gatwick to Oxford or Milton Keynes.

From Stansted, there is a train service to London Liverpool Street. From there you can travel by Underground to Euston, where you can take a London Midland or Virgin train to Milton Keynes. There is also a direct coach service from Stansted to Milton Keynes.

From Luton, you can take a coach to Milton Keynes.

On arrival at Milton Keynes railway station, Milton Keynes Coachway or Oxford (Gloucester Green), you can travel to ³Ô¹ÏÍø by the half-hourly X5 coach service.

Airport transfers by taxi

From London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Luton, Stansted and Birmingham International to ³Ô¹ÏÍø.
